Below is a selection of research projects I have contributed to, spanning remote sensing, machine learning, ecological monitoring, and precision agriculture.


1. Alfadvisor: A web-based cyber-platform to estimate alfalfa yield and quality for harvest scheduling

Time: 12/2022–08/2025
Funder: USDA–NIFA
Contribution: Acquisition and processing of UAV imagery; alfalfa sample collection and laboratory processing; crop yield and quality trait modeling; preparation of project reports and manuscript writing.


2. Ecological Space Monitoring and Information Service Platform for Nature Reserves in Hainan Province

Time: 06/2019–06/2021
Funder: Key Research and Development Program of Hainan Province
Contribution: Ecological space monitoring, including acquisition and post-processing of UAV imagery covering ~50 km²; development of deep learning–based classification and change detection methods; ecosystem health evaluation.


3. Assessment of Island Biodiversity in the Paracel Islands

Funder: Institute of Environmental Sciences of Hainan
Contribution: Land-use/land-cover classification of the islands.


4. Remote Sensing Investigation of the Ecological Environment in the Boao Region, Hainan

Contribution: Development of classification and ecological assessment algorithms for multispectral imagery.


5. Remote Sensing Study of Changes in Three Polar Glaciers and the Effects of Aerosols

Contribution: Development of a Sentinel-1 EW SAR–based algorithm for detecting freeze–thaw dynamics of the Antarctic ice sheet.
